In December 2012 the James Richard Janowsky Awards was established at the School of Visual Arts, New York University, and Columbia University. Each fund is a bit different: At SVA it is to help a film student with production costs; Columbia University it is to award graduate students concentrating in screenwriting; and at NYU, James views completed short films and then determines which students will be awarded.
This year's James Janowsky award was offered to IN WHITE. Mr Janowsky was kind enough to also include a letter in which he expresses why he specifically chose IN WHITE out of all of the completed films.
Here's the touching letter below:
Writer/Director Dania Bdeir and cinematographer Christopher Aoun attended the MIFF awards on June 14th for the screening and award ceremony.

The Lebanese consul Dr Walid Haidar also attended along with a number of prominent Lebanese expats living in Milano.
